In several locations there were snow buildups that soon looked like icebergs.

It has been interesting seeing most of the lake frozen over.

The two images below this turned out to be very forced, making them look contrived. With suggestions from some friends, I redid it with this as the result. I used six vertical images for this one.

Mountains over frozen Utah Lake. I took ten vertical shots to merge for this panoramic. The original panoramic was 1.2 gigabytes in size. After sitting with this for a couple of days, I don't like it at all. See above for the better rendition.

It has been fun wandering the local area for fun surprises. The fall colors and bare tree limbs offer interesting perspective.

This morning, November 8th, I went back up to see if I could get the chapel and temple steeples in the same photo. The sunrise was very cooperative in allowing it to be a pleasing picture.

I enjoy taking pictures of nature with people in the scene. It adds a human element offering perspective, but shots without those bipedal lifeforms is often preferred. Multnomah Falls, Oregon.

Crystal Mill - Being able to take this photo is why I got up at 3:00 AM, stopped at other fantastic locations for fall colors, rode in a jeep over a six mile boulder laden lane, and got home about 11:00 PM. It really was a great day.

Since seeing photos of Crystal Mill, I have wanted to photograph it. I am so excited for now having had the opportunity to take this and other photos of it. This is five vertical photos stitched together. The Crystal Mill, or the Old Mill is an 1892 wooden powerhouse located on an outcrop above the Crystal River in Crystal, Colorado, United States. It is accessible from Marble Colorado via 4x4. Although called a mill, it is more correctly denoted as a compressor station, which used a water turbine to drive an air compressor. The compressed air was then used to power other machinery or tools. Today it stands as a Colorado icon, and is reputed to be the most photographed site in the state.

Of the first two sunrise photos, I like the first the best. I like how the mist rests in the trees below the horizon. The third shot is a sunset over the ocean on the same day. Look for the kites flying in the night sky.
