Oregon Coast, October 17, 2012 - These 3 shots taken with iPhone 5
I often scout possible photo opportunities with my iPhone. I take test shots and go back and study them before going back for the real deal with my Canon 5D Mk II DSLR. I like to take the shots, give it some time, and later look at them fresh. If I still like them, I go back with my camera. In this case I liked the results I got with the phone, so I did a little post camera processing using an iPad Photoshop App before posting.

Grandma T's Fantastic Disney Cruise -- Book Pages
Above are the pages of a book I put together after a Disney Cruise we went on with all of Teri's kids and their children. Teri's step dad, Bob knew that Teri had long dreamed of taking her kids to Disneyland and more recently on a Disney cruise. He wanted to make it happen, so he took care of it through his will, leaving her the money to take the dream vacation.
It really was a marvelous experience with everyone from the youngest to the oldest having a great time.

Pacific City, Oregon
Recently, we have been going to Pacific City, Oregon to enjoy the beach. The first of these three shots shows the popularity of this beautiful sandy beach. The others are of people receiving instructions for kite surfing before they attempt to head out to the water for the real thing.
Astoria, Oregon
While we lived in Clatskanie, we would often to to Astoria to visit one of Teri's favorite yarn shops. While there, I walk around town enjoying the sites and weather permitting, take some pictures. These shots are examples of how picturesque the area is.
Oregon Coast, October 2012
I wanted to do more than just record this scene, so did some post production work to give it an old time feel.
Beautiful October evening. Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon
I never tire of taking pictures of Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach. This evening offered a nice soft sunset.

Sunset on Oregon Coast
The sunset was magnificant this evening. I wanted to make an image that emphasized the color blend from the deeper tones at the bottom to the cooler blue near the top. This vertical format emphasizing the sky, leaving the beach and rocks secondary seemed to be a good choice.

L'Arcano resturant, Rome
We were sitting at a little cafe in Rome with Rick and Iva Curry and had a good view of this restaurant a small way down the road. I took several shots of it but an employee stood at the entrance, arms crossed looking at me. He remained until I pretended to give up and sat back down at our table. He then went inside and I got up and got the shot I had been looking for.

Chevy Truck Not For Sale
On my way to workout each morning I drove by this old Chevrolet truck. After several times of telling myself that I needed to go during good light to take a picture, I finally did. While taking some shots, the owner of the truck came out to see what I was doing. I wondered if he would be upset that I was trespassing on his property or be fine. He was very happy that I was taking pictures and gave me a bit of background on the truck. One interesting tidbit was concerning the "Not for sale" sign. His wife got fed up with so many people stopping to ask if they could buy the truck. To appease her, he posted the sign. I feel that sign makes the shot much better.

Wizard's Hat Fountain
We had a great opportunity to take some our our kids and grand kids on a Disney cruise. While on board I took a few shots in different locations of the ship. I combined an outside shot of the wizard fountain along with a shot of a wall in the toddlers play area inside to get elements for this picture.

Rome
This photo, for me, gives a contrast between the gladiators and the Christians who were obviously at odds with each other. At the location of the cross near the top is where Caesar sat while watching the lions kill Christians.
